I am the happy mother of four very sweet four-legged animals. They’re all adorable, sweet as can be, and named after mathematicians (surprise, surprise).
First up is my the love of my life, Lenny, my rescue mutt (Boston Terrier mix). He has been with me nearly four years, and it was love at first sight for us both. His namesake is Leonhard Euler, and if you don’t know who that is then I just don’t know how to talk to you 😉 Anyway, I could post thousands of photos of him, but I’ll try to keep it under control…
Lenny wasn’t super thrilled with Christmas morning selfies…
… or honestly, any selfies whatsoever.
Lenny’s best friend is his little brother Mac. Mac was a birthday present about a year and a half ago, and was such a tiny little kitten back then! Now he’s just the coolest animal animal ever. He loves all people and animals, and is almost always willing to snuggle with Lenny and put up with his kisses. It was tough to find a name that suited him, but Mac was definitely the right decision. He was named for Colin Maclaurin, a lesser known mathematician to most people.
They’re just so precious!
Mac doesn’t just love his brother, Lenny. He is a little obsessed with his outdoor siblings, Newton and Nitzy. Newton (obviously named for Isaac Newton) is a black pygmy goat wether, and Nitzy (less obviously named for Gottfried Leibniz) is a white pygmy/Nigerian dwarf doe.
It has been really cold this week, so I’ve let them sleep in the laundry room for warmth and gave them nice warm baths this morning. As you can see, Mac thinks he is a herding cat (which isn’t even a thing, as far as I know) and was helping to force them down the stairs after bath time.
And speaking of bath time, how totally cute are they!?
I’ll post many more photos of them in the future… don’t you worry. For now I’ll just leave you with Newton wearing a Hartford Yardgoats hat…
